Ebony (Day 4)

I saw her first when she was a pup,
Her eyes sparkled whenever she was up.
Ebony was was a soft ball, so tiny,
A coat of black, thick and shiny.
Her first touch was a small paw,
On my arm she always rested her jaw.
This dear creature reflected my inner self to me,
My truest nature was there to see.
Through her I knew that I may do some wrongs,
But quickly repent and let them be bygones.
My pet was always there to receive me at the door,
For her gentle touch, you'd often find me on the floor.
And whenever my expectations from others were too high,
I was reminded of her simple smile after the sigh.
That life is beautiful in being an unconditional lover,
Ebony's eveready approach, taught me to be a giver.
For she effortlessly overcame our anger on her naughtiness,
Her motto was simple: gentle love was happiness.

wow.
Made me remember my childhood.
I have grown up surrounded by cats and they were like my best friends as a child and things never mattered.
So post them I was search something in vacuum...hopefully I get to adopt a cat someday again :)

Loved this one so much :)

What a wonderful way to learn about unconditional love - this makes me want a dog even more than I already do!

My lovely sister .. Yes powers bring out such warmth and kindness in us. Love them. I'm sure you'll get your little furry kitten someday and she'll curl up on your lap while you read :)

Glad to have struck a chord, especially through Ebony. Imagining life without her is tough and 12 years must have been a wonderful ride with your pet. Very touched by your kind words. Thank you.
